You Have a New Story to Write

Your never-ending story begins with you saying goodbye to your former self. You have a new, exciting, action-packed story to write. Thankfully, believers can rest assure they are not the same dried-up story. No matter what your dirty past, you have a new, compelling story.

I love a good book, but every good book has an end. If you’re a believer, your story may have an earthly end, but the great news is you have 9 lives! We keep going, and going, and going. This is a reason to celebrate!

^“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on, we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come the old has gone, the new is here! – 2 Corinthians 5:14-17

Christ makes you a new person when you accept Him as your Savior! Your physical body may still be here, but we can celebrate the death of your former sin. Sure, we will still make mistakes but because of Christ’s sacrificial death, we are forgiven.

If you are a new person in Christ you must put pen to paper and start writing your new story. Don’t just sit back and accept your old ways of thinking and believing. You now have the mind of Christ so don’t believe the devil’s lies that yours is the same old story. Stop believing the lies and start walking in God’s truth!

It’s a bleak alternative if you never accept this new story designed just for you.  Failing to accept Christ as your Savior and not giving your life to Him means that your story eventually ends.  Death is the end for you. Even now you are spiritually dead, and therefore nothing can bring you joy.

There is always a reason to celebrate when you are alive in Christ, even in death. God can bring you the joy your heart desperately craves because we are designed for greatness

We Must Shift our Perspective

We are made new in Christ, but do we truly believe this? Are you still living in your old ways of thinking? As we can all testify it’s difficult to change our thinking, but God says to “renew our minds.”

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2

Start thinking and believing the way God wants you to. Eliminate negative ways of thinking so that you can walk in victory. When we truly do this there is much to celebrate!  Learn to buckle down and learn what God says about you.

How do we buckle down when we feel like we’re flying off the handle?

Be an active participant in your own life. Live intentionally. There is a battle spiritual battle going on behind the scenes so we must work hard at learning and growing with God. Much like if you want to learn about geography you have to go to class, listen, and learn. Many of us didn’t want to learn about every subject in high school. You also must be willing.

Every Good Story has a Plot Twist

God guarantees believers victory and forever life but because of the fall of man, there will be a few plot twists. Don’t lose heart, those that are faithful until the end will receive their crown.

Make your next chapter a good one. It’s hard to stay actively engaged in our lives with so much going on in and around us. Therefore, I want to encourage you to decide now that your next chapter will be a good one.

Many of us lost interest and give up reaching for our goals or trying to become a better person because we think we can’t possibly rise higher. These are the lies the devil wants you to believe. If you believe in God and accept Jesus as your Savior, then you are part of God’s never-ending story.

Conclusion

Our story was intended to last forever. There are different chapters or stages of life and the purpose of these is crucial to who we are. We grow closer to God due to these stages. As a result, your life story progresses to new heights. The devil is working against this progression so with all you might fight the good fight of faith. Build a legacy of faith that lasts forever and that can bring others this Good News.
