40. Remain Unshaken

Check out this Episode!

Welcome everyone to the legendary faith podcast. My name is Alisa Massey, and I am so thankful that you’re tuning in today this glorious day, because we’re gonna make it that way. Right? And so this is episode 40 raw and uncut remain unshaken. And on these raw and uncut episodes, I just wanted to hop on here, unfiltered, unedited, and share what’s on my heart and encourage you in the week to have hope. And if we look around the world, it’s a little shook up, or at least it appears that way, but I want to inspire you to remain UN shaken despite anything that’s going on in the world or in your family, in your home. Because when we look to Jesus Christ, we have a hope. We have something better to strive for. You don’t have to sulk, in despair with your feelings or with your current chaos.

And that’s why I want you to look at verse or listen to verse 62 in the book of Psalms 1 – 6 . I wait quietly before God where my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. So my enemies against one, man, all of them trying to kill me. To them. I’m just a broken down wall or a tottering fence. They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face, but curse me in their hearts. Let all that I am wait quietly before God for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. And so Psalm 62:6 says he alone is my rock and my salvation. My fortress where I will never be shaken.

Now David wrote the book of many, much of the book of Psalms and he found much encouragement in God, despite all the trauma that he faced. And David had many challenges, including committing adultery in which he created himself, but he also had many victories. And so there are many other wonderful stories. If you look at the Bible, Paul who wrote most of the New Testament, he killed Christians and he was put in prison. And just all of these persecutions that you read about in the Bible, it’s relative to what is going on today.

And so we can find much hope in what they faced and then look at our own lives and have hope for better things to come. And it all revolves around Christ, not what’s going on in the world, not your troubles because your troubles will come. But we know that we can always overcome by the hope of Christ. So we need to put our trust in Christ and remain unshaken. This is something we strive for, right? We don’t roll out of bed in pain or face horrible trauma in our lives and just instantly be calm and collective. No, it’s something we work on. It’s something we strive for. But if you’re looking at the wrong sources for your help, you will never get there. You will never achieve peace because peace comes from God. God gives us peace. And that’s why so many people in the world are shook up because they’re looking at the wrong source for their peace. They’re trying to achieve something that they are never gonna get because it’s temporary, but God is not temporary.

So you have to look at the encouragement of God, look to your Bible, look at the right sources. Look for the right guidance and strive to be u shaken. And as you learn and grow in this process, you become stronger and more confident. And then you are truly rewarded. But those that choose to sulk in despair and never reaching out for help, that’s why they don’t get anywhere. And it’s hard. We know life is hard. You know, when loved ones die, when we watch people suffering, we have to process our emotions somewhere. And if it starts with a single prayer, God help me.

Hey, that is something that’s a beginning. That’s a start. You know there are some people who may live alone, feel like they have no one to reach out to, you know, and they turn on the news and they see the horrific things going on. And then what? Reach out, find a podcast, open your Bible, start somewhere and say, God, help me. Help me to have the willingness to be willing. To have comfort and to change and to have hope and to remain unshaken despite what is going on in this world or in my life. We have to choose to think differently. And this is hard.

But when you choose to take steps to think differently, you will look back in hindsight and see your improvement. When I used to be shook up by my circumstances, I tried to drown it in things that weren’t serving me. And the step that helped me to get better was to cry out. And yes, I was desperate in desperation, but sometimes I’m telling you that this is a good thing. It’s a good thing to be desperate. I see people that I know that they haven’t reached that point, but you see them drowning. You see them drowning in their sin and you just wonder

what is going to get their attention. What is going to wake them up? And you hope it’s not something horrific, but you pray for their salvation and that they will have the willingness to be willing. And so you need to find a trustworthy person. You have to start thinking differently. Trust in something other than the world. You need to find encouragement. Not the gossipy people at your work. Not your cussing coworkers. They’re not going help you get better. They are going to keep you shook up because you are in the wrong mindset. You have to find something better to achieve for and there are many resources out there today.

So media doesn’t always have to be bad. We can use it for the good, but you have to look up the right stuff. You have to be an active participant in your own life. And I’m here to guide you find guidance to look for the right things. We know that what is popular, what is on the news, there is an agenda and it’s not to help you. Do you think drowning in fear is going to help you? Do you think these things that are threatening your wellbeing? No. You have to know what’s in God’s word. Know that you have hope for better things and know that God wants the best for us.

It’s not living in fear. We have all these good things available for us in Christ. Tune into the right things. You know, hope is a wonderful thing. That’s why I have so much passion is because just living so distraught before in a season in my life, and then getting out of that pit, then having the peace of God that is such a transformation. It’s such a good feeling. And then to know that I can have bad days, but that I know that it could get better because I’ve seen it in my life before. And these good friends that I have, these trustworthy people in my life, you know, I can look to them and I can see how their life was transformed because I’m looking to the right sources.

I know that I can go to my Bible for hope and encouragement. I know there are many Biblical leaders that I can trust, but then again, not all of them. You must know your Bible. You must know the heart of God. You must know the agenda. The true agenda of God. So I am thankful that you tuned in today and I’m praying for you. I see many people that are shook up and there was a time. For example, when all this COVID stuff hit that I had this fear creep up in me, but it was only for a minute because I rejected it because I remember I reflected upon my true source for hope. And that’s what you have to do. You have to reject fear and go to your true source Jesus Christ for hope. So, whatever is going in your life today, I’m praying that you will remain unshaken in that you have hope for the future and that things will get better for you because I believe that they will. Thank you for listening and remember the best is yet to come.
