In Episode 56 of the “Finding Hope Show,” host Alisa Massey explores the concept of inner peace and what it takes to find it in a world that often seems to be out of place. She asks listeners to examine what is guiding their lives and to consider if temporary fixes like money, success, or fame can truly bring lasting happiness and joy. Instead, she encourages listeners to seek something more, like a relationship with Jesus Christ, which she claims can provide a hope that outlasts life’s ups and downs.
Alisa shares her own testimony of finding peace and hope through a relationship with Jesus, even in the face of sadness and hopelessness. She cites Philippians 4:6-7, which instructs readers to pray about everything and not worry, in order to experience God’s peace, which transcends human understanding. Alisa concludes by reminding listeners of the hope of Christ and the reassurance that comes with it.
Welcome, everyone to the Finding Hope Show, I’m your host, Alisa Massey. Welcome to Episode 56, the one question that will help you find inner peace today, now more than ever, I think the world is craving, inner peace. We look around, and everything seems to be so out of place. Have you ever recalled a time when you look back on your life and you recall times of happiness and joy? But then often, throughout our lives, it’s not just a complete top-of-the-mountain experience, right? It’s often a climb. And sadly, many people look back on their lives. And they don’t even recall any happiness or joy. And that is a very sad story. Or maybe they’re happy at one point in their lives, only to be severely let down and then they lose all hope.
I want to ask you today what is guiding your life. Because we need to look at these temporary fixes that come and go but do not leave a lasting impression on our lives. Now, we all face trouble, and times of hopelessness. But I want to encourage you to think about why are you losing hope, to begin with. What are you putting your hope into these days? Because I’m here to testify that with Jesus Christ, there’s always hope. Now, I’ve had some sad times in my life. I’ve had times when I was severely depressed, and anxious. Despite all these times, I never absolutely lost hope. Because I had Jesus within my heart. But the thing is, although I knew Jesus, I did not have a relationship with Him. To have inner peace, today, what is that thing that you need to experience lasting happiness and joy? Is it money success or fame because all these things look really promising. They look like that if we achieve them, we’re going to be on top of the world. And oftentimes we crave these things.
It’s difficult not to win. It’s constantly in our faces, and on our phones. But I want to challenge you to find something else in this life to find something more. And if you’ve never known Jesus, you don’t know what you’re missing. And in fact, I don’t mean just to know him to know about him. I mean, to have a relationship with him, because I wanted Jesus when I first got saved and accepted him into my heart. But I didn’t know what all that would entail. I know, I raised my hand, and I wanted to know, I wanted this relationship. But it’s been a learning process. You know, I was a teenager. And I had this desire in my heart. I heard the message and I wanted to grow. I wanted to learn more. But it’s been a wonderful process ever since. And, yes, I’ve been in the pit. I’ve come out of the pit and those certain circumstances were not wonderful. But what was wonderful is the fact that I had hope and I had Jesus to fall back on to and now That is wonderful that I have a lasting testimony, that I’m not just finding temporary happiness or joy, that in the ebb and flow of life, that I’m going to find lasting happiness. And that’s what we’re aiming for. The point is this world is going to give us a fake sense of happiness if we’re leaving Jesus out of the equation. If you don’t know Jesus today, you don’t know what you’re missing. So just do it. give Jesus a try. Today, you’re hearing my testimony of how Jesus, despite the pit, despite the downfall of life has given me lasting joy. And this is a testimony, you know, that’s what we we’re here on this earth, to be a testimony to others about Jesus. And this is your sign that if you don’t know him, you have a promise of lasting happiness.
Now, it may not be in the moment, it may not be current, because we do live in a broken world. But it will be forever. So I want to read you Philippians, 4:6-7. Don’t worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all that he has done, then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Jesus will guard your hearts with Jesus, we will have inner peace. And if you don’t know him, you don’t know the peace that I’m talking about. There have been times in my sadness, when I was hopeless, at the moment, yet I knew Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives within me. So there was a tugging in my heart. I couldn’t just let it go; I couldn’t just reside in my sadness.
No, there was hope in Christ for something more. And that is what you can experience in this life, that even though the world will let us down, you can have lasting hope. You have the hope of Christ. And that is reassuring friends, that is so reassuring. When you lose your money or your home, or when a loved one dies. It’s reassuring that you have something awesome to hope for. And that is my prayer for you today that if you don’t know him, you will accept Jesus into your heart. Because he loves you and He cares for you, and he did create you you’re not you didn’t just happen in this world. I want you to feel that in your heart today. You weren’t meant to be sucked dry by the world, you were meant to have lasting joy and hope and peace. You know, and when you seek God and you truly put Him first. Even if you’re in a bad circumstance, you can have peace in your heart. Let God guard your heart. Let God be first in your life, not money or things if these things are going to guide you, you’re going to go in the wrong direction. You may seem joyful at the moment, but as you’re slowly going in the wrong direction. One day, it’s all going to be gone. But my prayer for you is that you understand that the joy of the Lord is your strength and that there is something more out there. We don’t have to become slaves to technology, the internet, or social media. We don’t have to listen to the naysayer’s hatred because where’s that stemming from? God is a God of love. You don’t have to listen to all the crap out there. You can be strong in the God of the universe that loves you. And there are many other testimonies that you can hear stop listening to the wrong voices if you are a believer and if you are in a horrible situation focus on God at this time. Let God be your guide because he is with you, and we have hope for a better future. Thank you for joining me today. God bless.
